Blah Blah Blah has been turning out excellent vegetarian food for more than ten years and in all that time it has maintained a high level of quality. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the feel is part-homely, part-elegant restaurant. The smell of the place is always a delightful mix of freshly picked herbs and spices.
And the food – always tip top. I recommend starting with the gorgeous vegetable tempura or the baked camembert. Both dishes fill you up just enough to get you in the mood for the main course. The tempura is cooked just enough to get the batter crispy and keep the vegetables fresh, whilst the camembert is set off perfectly with gently cooked red onions.
For mains you could try the moussaka which is always cooked to perfection and offers a gentle balance between the aubergine, tomatoes, mozerella and béchamel. At my table one of my fellow diners had the spicy curry which was exceptional and came accompanied with onion bhaji, popadoms and mango pickle and is a hundred times better than the curry you would get from most curry houses. I opted for the potato cake in porcini sauce which was one of the best meals I have ever had. The combination of potato cake and the sumptuous porcini sauce made me wishing the meal would never end.
For desert you can choose between five or six beautiful dishes, from the chocolate tart to the crumble (perfectly crumbly) to a wonderful vegan cheesecake.
Well priced and good value, Blah Blah is heartily recommended.
